Positioning is the attack plan

Dawnless sends undead toward the hero from every direction while the equipped weapon attacks automatically. Move with WASD or the arrow keys, watch the weapon's firing line, and press Space to dash out of a closing group.

During the first night, directional movement and the dash responded immediately. Two enemies fell to the automatic shot while the dawn timer continued to count down, showing that survival depends on guiding targets into the weapon's path rather than pressing a separate attack button.

Bring the night home

Coins and items remain in the collection even when a night ends in defeat. That persistent haul supports the next attempt, so a dangerous run can still be worthwhile when it produces useful drops.

Four weapons provide different skill trees: Ember Staff, Hunting Bow, Great Mace, and Twin Blades. Choose space for the current attack pattern instead of treating every weapon as the same circle of damage.

Use the camp between runs

The camp contains a merchant, forge, tailor, and waystone. Press E to interact and I to open the inventory, then spend the night's gains on equipment before returning to the Ashen Fields, Drowned Crypt, or Hollow Cathedral.

The forge combines plain equipment bases with shards and sigils. Check the resulting gear against the chosen weapon tree before committing resources, especially when a build already relies on movement or dash timing.

Move: Use WASD or the arrow keys to keep space between the hero and the horde
Dash: Press Space to burst through danger while the dash is ready
Attack: The equipped weapon fires on its own, so positioning decides which enemies enter its path
Camp: Use E to interact with the forge, merchant, tailor, and waystone; I opens the inventory
Progress: Survive until dawn, collect drops, and keep the run's coins and items even after defeat
