AutiSIM

Two weeks of connected choices

AutiSIM follows a seventeen-year-old autistic girl through school, family, friendships, and an approaching presentation. Each day is split into time slots, and every response changes the internal resources she carries into the next scene.

Sensory load, energy, social battery, stress, masking, burnout, and self-acceptance affect one another. Pushing through can preserve appearances while quietly consuming energy, and overload can lead to a meltdown or shutdown.

What the first choice teaches

The opening morning offers several ways to reach school. Taking headphones onto the rush-hour bus does not erase the noise: it costs four energy and raises sensory load by eight, but familiar music lowers stress by two.

Some options show what most people might do while remaining unavailable to the protagonist. They are part of the simulation rather than locked rewards, making the gap between an expected response and an accessible response visible.

Comfort and content settings

Before the story begins, choose two particularly sensitive senses and decide between full sensory effects and a calmer presentation. Sound starts off, with optional Soft and Full modes, and exact numbers or choice-effect hints can be toggled separately.

The story includes sensory overload, meltdowns, shutdowns, social exclusion, bullying, ableist comments, and burnout. The creator describes the game as one lived perspective rather than a diagnostic tool or a claim about every autistic person.
