Trickleworks

Build first, then let the material flow

Every Trickleworks level starts with a source above a compact board and a vessel below it. The task is to place a limited set of ramps, gates, fans, burners, or sponges before pressing Pour, then intervene with switches while the simulation is running.

First Pour introduces the loop with one ramp and a sand target. Selecting the tool through the keyboard, moving it, pressing Enter, and starting the pour updates the tool, time, fill, and contamination counters immediately.

Four worlds of interacting materials

The forty stages are divided into Sand, Water, Fire and Ice, and The Works. Later boards combine materials whose behavior matters: water spreads, oil floats, embers ignite wood, ice melts, steam condenses, and acid eats through stone.

A successful run fills the vessel to its dashed goal line with the requested material without exceeding the allowance for anything else. Embers, flames, and acid can crack the vessel, so solving a route is also about filtering hazards.

Stars, accessibility, and experimentation

Completing the fill earns the first star. Matching or beating the tool par and time par awards the other two, while three levels remain available ahead so one difficult puzzle does not stop the whole campaign.

The Sandbox removes the prescribed solution and lets the cellular automaton become the toy. Patterned materials, a color-blind palette, reduced motion, keyboard controls, and screen-reader announcements make the systems unusually approachable for a canvas-based physics game.

Guide

Plan
Read the vessel's target material and contamination limit before placing any tools
Place
Drag tools onto the board, or press 1–5, move with the arrow keys, rotate with R, and press Enter to place
Pour
Start the simulation with Pour or P, then operate gates and switches while materials are moving
Score
Fill the vessel for one star, then beat the tool and time pars for the other two
Recover
Use Z to undo, X to reset, H for a hint, or F to cycle 1x, 2x, and 4x speed

Creator's description

The live embed opened a 40-level map split across Sand, Water, Fire and Ice, and The Works. In First Pour, the keyboard controls selected and placed a ramp, the tool counter updated to one, and Pour started the 60-step-per-second sand simulation with live time and fill readouts.
