Par Tactics presents a small grid, a move limit, and a fixed set of friendly and enemy pieces. A move is selected in two steps: choose a unit, choose one of its highlighted destinations, then tap the target again or press Confirm.
The knight jumps over intervening pieces and captures by landing. The archer depends on clear firing lines, while the brute pushes enemies and obstacles, opening solutions that involve water, crates, and shielded targets.
Bombers add chain reactions, shields block attacks from the front, and destructible crates can expose a shot. Because every level has one intended solution, the exact order of moves matters as much as the destination.
A three-part interactive tutorial introduces the roster before the main set of eighty levels. Undo and reset are always available, so a failed line can be examined without restarting the whole session.
Finishing at par is the central requirement, while score also rewards a faster solve and fewer undos. The portrait board and tap-confirm input make the same puzzles practical on a phone or desktop.
The first tutorial presented a five-by-five board with one knight, one enemy, and a par of two. Selecting the knight highlighted only legal L-shaped destinations; moving once, selecting again, landing on the enemy, and confirming produced Board cleared and Lesson cleared with exactly two moves.
